James H. Beauchamp is a sole practitioner in Tulsa where he practices in estate planning, and has restricted his law practice to related tax issues, including wills, trusts, probate, real estate, corporations, family limited partnerships, limited liability companies, and ante-nuptial agreements. He is author of the articles " Tips in Estate Planning", " Probate in Oklahoma", and " Planning for Retirement", and other articles of interest to financial planners (see articles in those sections of the web page). Mr. Beauchamp is an honor graduate from Tulane University and Oklahoma State University. He is also the author of "What if Karen Quinlan Had Lived in Oklahoma? A Guide to the Issuance of a No Cardiac Resuscitation Order, 50 OBJ No. 13, March 31, 1979; and "Micro Computers Bring Small Law Firms on Parity with Large Law Firms," 57 OBJ 1181, July 26, 1986. Mr. Beauchamp is listed in Who's Who In American Law and Who's Who in the Southwest. He was editor of The Tulsa Lawyer, 1989-91, and received Outstanding Contribution Awards from the Tulsa County Bar Association for the years 1990 and 1991. Mr. Beauchamp was a member of the board of directors for the Tulsa County Bar Association from 1989-91. He has served as a Director of the Tulsa Estate Planning Forum and also served as director of the Oklahoma Planned Giving Council. He currently serves on a legislative committee of the Oklahoma Bar Association, which has recently submitted modifications to the proposed Uniform Trust Code.
| He has been a lecturer for NBI Seminars on the topics of Family Limited Partnerships in Oklahoma, a Practical Guide to Estate Planning, Advanced Estate Planning Techniques in Oklahoma, How to Draft Effective Wills and Trusts for Your Clients in Oklahoma, and Key Issues in Estate Planning and Probate. Mr. Beauchamp received the Bronze Star Medal in Vietnam. He is a member of
Fellowship Lutheran Church. He has been married for 42 years and has 3 children and 2 grandchildren. He has been practicing law since 1968, and has lived in the Tulsa area since 1979. His favorite non-legal interests are his grandkids, golf, reading
organic gardening, carpentry and astronomy.
